Enjoy the arts through theater productions, concerts, festivals, classes and more! The Lorain County Metro Parks has a wonderful live theatre that consistently puts out some of best local productions as a part of the season lineup every single year. During the summer season, outdoor concerts are available at three different unique outdoor locations including the shores of Lake Erie and a beautiful outdoor amphitheater in the woods. Art classes are offered year-round by certified artists and teachers in addition to the art shows that are on display throughout the year at the Carlisle Visitor Center. Cooking classes are offered by renowned chefs in Miller Nature Preserve’s state-of-the-art demonstration kitchen.

Live Theatre

Located inside the French Creek Nature Center in Sheffield Village, French Creek Theatre is the park district’s premiere theatre experience. Each season lineup provides high-quality acting and musical performances at an affordable price through classic favorites such as Little Shop of Horrors, A Christmas Story, Annie, Death of a Salesman just to name a few. All shows take place on Friday and Saturday nights at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday matinees at 3:00 p.m.

Every summer season, the Lorain County Metro Parks’ offers unique outdoor music experiences that cannot be found anywhere else! Every year brings new and exciting bands and artists, and some of the local favorites come back each year. Vermilion River Reservation concerts

Sunday evenings in June - August at 6:00 p.m.
Bacon Woods Amphitheater, Vermilion River Reservation
This summer concert series typically consists of around 10 different concerts throughout the summer and has one of the more beautiful set of surroundings as the amphitheater sits on the outskirts of the woods of Vermilion River Reservation.

Lakeview Park concerts

Every other Thursday during June - August at 6:00 p.m.
Lakeview Park, Lorain
The sunset concerts at Lakeview Park are truly music with a view! As the sun begins to set, dance the night away during some live music on the shores of Lake Erie at Lakeview Park.

Carlisle Visitor Center’s art gallery is free and open to the public during regular business hours (8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m.). Typically this art gallery features local artists and their work ranges from hand-drawn or hand-painted artwork to photography.

ART CLASSES

Artists can perfect their craft by taking part in any number of different instructor-led art classes offered at the Lorain County Metro Parks. Classes involve a variety of different styles and mediums and take place throughout the park district. COOKING CLASSES

Cooking classes take place at Miller Nature Preserve’s state-of-the-art demonstration kitchen and are open to the public, however Miller Nature Preserve members receive discounted rates.
