Lorain County Metro Parks has partnered with TrueNorth Cultural Arts to provide an exciting variety of both fine arts and performing arts programming. The diverse opportunities include theater productions and classes; musical concerts running the gamut from classical to classic rock; and fine art shows featuring paintings, jewelry and ceramics. Highlighting this collaboration is the commissioning, and staging, of theatrical productions unique to Lorain County. The Fantasticks is considered to be the world's longest running musical with 42 years and 17,162 performances of the off-Broadway production. A mix of William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, Donizetti's L'Elisir d'Amore and Rostand's Les Romanesques, The Fantasticks tells the story of forbidden love between the son and daughter of feuding neighbors. But will their love survive when they find out their fathers staged the feud so they would fall in love?

TrueNorth is bringing one of your family's favorite stories to life in this exciting musical journey. The TrueNorth Chorale and some of Northeast Ohio's best performers sing all the hits that made the musical and the movie special. Such hits include "The Circle of Life", "Hakuna Matata", "Can You Feel the Love Tonight", and "I Just Can't Wait to be King". Stay after the concert for a free African drumming class!
