Explore the Lorain County Metro Parks through a variety of nature programs designed to educate through hands-on experiences. Programs are offered throughout the year at various reservations throughout the county. Unless specified, programs are designed to accommodate all ages at no charge. YOUTH EXPLORER CLUB

Wellington Reservation - Wellington Visitor Center
Summer program for children ages 5-12. Must be willing to hike, learn, and have lots or fun. Sign up for Tuesday or Thursday. Pre register by 6/25. Pay $5 pay at the door.

TRAM RIDE: STEEL MILL TRAIL

Black River Reservation - Days Dam Picnic Area
Learn a little about the history and nature of the area. Last tram leaves at 3:30. Preference is given to those not able to walk the trail.
OUTDOOR ADENTURE CAMP
08/02, 9 am-3 pm
Sandy Ridge Reservation - Johnson Wetland Center
Five day camp for those entering 7th-8th grades. Preregister and $100 by 7/12 (includes entire week of program).
BUTTERFLY CATCHING
08/03, 9-10:30 am
Black River Reservation - Days Dam Picnic Area
Help catch butterflies to be released in the butterfly garden. Nets will be provided. Wear long pants and long sleeves. Moderate hike.
Seasonal changes can be observed through watching wildlife. Animals prepare for the cold winter ahead by stocking up food stores or building new shelters. Plants change color as pigments are used up. Observe these changes at home or by attending one of our nature programs today!
