RULES


Jack-O-Lantern

For your safety, the following Trail Rules apply to all visitors:

  1. NO ALCOHOL allowed on park grounds
  2. NO SMOKING on trail or in stations
  3. NO FLASHLIGHTS
  4. NO MASKS
  5. NO FOOD OR DRINK on trail
  6. NO TOUCHING of staff, volunteers, decorations or props
  7. NO DOGS on trail
  8. NO STROLLERS through stations

 


PARKING


FREE Parking is available in the fields at Carlisle Visitor Center and the parking lots at the Duck Pond Picnic area. Staff will be on hand to direct parking. Visitors who park at Duck Pond will be shuttled to Carlisle Visitor Center. This is the easiest way to get into and exit the event. Parking gates close at 9:45 pm (last group goes down the trail at 10 pm).

ADMISSION


Admission to the Halloween Fair is $2 per person, and 3 years of age and younger are FREE! With the $2 admission, visitors are given a hand stamp, which entitles the visitor to unlimited trail visits and Little Green Choo rides on the day of purchase. All visitors will have to enter and wait in the trail queue line each time they wish to visit the trail.

All visitors walking the trail need to get a hand stamp at the ticket booth, or #3 on the Fairgrounds map. All visitors, regardless of age, must have a hand stamp to enter the trail or ride the Little Green Choo.

Tickets for the Midway Games can be purchased at the Friends of Metro Parks booth located at the start of the game Midway at the labeled wood building.

TRAIL


Halloween Fair Trail

The Halloween Fair trail (Carlisle Reservation’s Short Loop Trail) is designated as “Family-Friendly” during the hours of 5-7 p.m. Families are invited to experience the trail during daylight hours without actors and activated scare devices.

The trail turns “Scary” from 7-10 p.m. The Haunted Trail invites guests to experience a number of walk-thru spooky and startling stations equipped with actors and other trail side scenes featuring mechanical scare props.

LITTLE GREEN CHOO AND
TRACTOR-PULLED WAGON RIDES


Tracto-pulled Wagon rides

Riders experience the Children’s Nature Discovery Trail with inflatable Halloween characters and other family-friendly displays. Visitors can ride either the Little Green Choo or the Tractor-Pulled Wagon; both vehicles travel along the same decorated path. Each ride will last approximately 7 minutes. Lines close by 9:30 pm each night to accommodate waiting passengers.

RESTROOMS


Water Aerobics Class

Although the Visitor Center will remain closed to the public during Halloween Fair, a restroom trailer will be positioned next to the building and the Ghost Town Raceway attraction. There will also be a handicap accessible portable restroom next to the restroom trailer and on the path leading up to the Little Green Choo Train Station.

 

 


MIDWAY GAMES


Friends of Lorain County Metro Parks offer a variety of Midway Games during Halloween Fair! Visit the green Friends of Metro Parks booth to purchase tickets. Tickets are 50 cents each or 12 for $5.00

CANCELLATION POLICY


In the event of lighting, thunder, or high wind, Lorain County Metro Parks may cancel Halloween Fair. Please check the www.MetroParks.cc homepage and our Facebook page for regular updates during inclement weather.

Ghost Town Raceway

HOLLSTEIN RESERVATION: Halloween at Hollstein

Plenty of fun activities for the kids at the Halloween Carnival including, Piñata, Constume contest, Carnival games, Popcorn, and more!

Cost is $2 per person.

CARLISLE RESERVATION: Night Owl Corn Maze

Tuesdays, October 18 & 25, 2016
7:00 - 8:30pm
Equestrian Center

Bring your flashlight and try your nocturnal navigation skills through the 6 acre corn maze at Carlisle Reservation’s Equestrian Center! In addition to the quiz questions throughout the maze, there will also be items specifically for the “night owls” to look for during this event. Tickets for this event are $1 each, available for purchase at the grandstand at the Equestrian Center of Carlisle Reservation. Children three and under receive a FREE ticket. As always, these outdoor programs are weather dependent. Please call ahead (440-458-5121) the day of the program (8am-4:30pm) in case of inclement weather or high wind advisories.

COLUMBIA RESERVATION: Halloween Spider Egg Hunt

We've been having so much fun at Easter we have decided to do it again...for Halloween!! Join us for our inaugural Halloween orange and black egg hunt! There will be a costume contest, trivia, the Halloween egg hunt, and lots of fabulous prizes! Mark it on your calenders and stay tuned to facebook for more details. This is one event you won't want to miss!

Cost is $10 per person.

SPLASH ZONE: Splash-O-Ween
